After attending the D-65 workshop in NYC last July, we have been tremendously busy implementing all that we have learned. Regarding our digital workflow, only after D-65 do so many things make sense: color spaces, sharpening, file naming, up & down scaling, resolutions, ppi/dpi/lpi, 8/16 bits, tiff/psd/jpg/raw, layers, levels, drop & pick-up box, actions, and so much more. Thank you so much for your insight. I truly appreciate when an artisan is mission dirven. My friend made out well with the record label. They negotiated a limited usage contract so she will maintain the copyrights and if they want to use the images in the future they will renogiate. The label also agreed to distinguish rates based on usage (cd cover v. interior). All in all, the label was easy to deal with. The challenge was finding a point of reference for pricing, contracts, and appropriate artist demands/expectations.

I gave them a detailed quote explaining what the digital processing fee does and how they benefit from using digital imagery. I recently worked with Seth one on one in an all day consultation. I can not begin to express how beneficial this experience was, and how valuable.
