Pricing Guidelines
for Magazine Reprints
If
any image
is re-used by a magazine on the editorial side, the fee paid to
photographers
is at minimum, the corresponding editorial space rate. The exact price
varies depending on whether the image came from stock or assignment. We
need to keep in mind that a reprint fee structure should be
considerably
higher than the editorial rate.
Reprints
are
used by companies to solicit business. The use of reprints by a company
is advertising or an advertorial use. It is also an endorsement from
the
magazine. This use commands a fee beyond editorial use.
